User manual

Every step a customer takes on the venue, in order — what to do, what you should see, and what to do when something is not right. It describes what actually happens, including the inconvenient parts.
1. Before you start
- 1Use openibank.com from a bookmark. Phishing copies of exchanges are built by machines now, in minutes; the address bar is the one thing they cannot copy.
- 2Use a wallet you control and have backed up. On this venue the wallet is the account.
- 3Never type your seed phrase into any website, ours included. Nobody at OpeniBank will ever ask for it.
2. Sign in with your wallet
- 1Press Connect and choose your wallet.
- 2Press Sign in. The venue sends a one-time challenge.
- 3Your wallet shows it word for word. Check it names this venue and says it authorises no transfer, no trade and no spending, and is valid once, for five minutes.
- 4Sign. The session key that comes back lives in this browser only.
Never sign what you did not start
A sign-in signature cannot move money, and the text says so. If a wallet prompt ever asks you to approve a token, a transfer or a contract you did not just ask for, reject it.
3. Deposit bitcoin
- 1Open Funds, then Bitcoin, then Deposit.
- 2Copy your deposit address, or scan its QR code. It belongs to your account only, and it does not change.
- 3Send bitcoin to it from your own wallet, on the bitcoin network.
- 4Wait. The deposit shows as Confirming, then Credited once enough blocks have confirmed it AND independent chain indexers agree it exists.
Why two indexers
A single data source that lies — or is lied to — could credit coins that never arrived. The venue credits a deposit only when independent sources report the same transaction.
Send only bitcoin, only on bitcoin
The deposit screen shows the minimum and the confirmations required. A deposit below the minimum is recorded but not credited. Coins sent on another network to this address are lost.
4. Your balances
Available
What you can trade or withdraw now.
In orders
Reserved by your open orders. Cancel an order and its reserve returns to Available in the same instant.
A trade moves numbers inside the venue's ledger — which is why it is instant and costs no network fee. Value only touches a chain when it arrives and when it leaves.
5. Place an order
- 1Choose Buy or Sell.
- 2Choose Limit (your price; it may wait) or Market (now, at the best prices available).
- 3For a limit order, enter the price. It must be a multiple of the market's tick size — 0.01 USDT on BTC/USDT at the time of writing.
- 4Enter the amount. It must be at least the market's minimum and a multiple of its lot size.
- 5Read the summary, then submit.
Protection built in
A market order never fills more than 5% away from the best price at the moment you sent it; whatever cannot fill inside that band is cancelled, not filled at a ruinous price. And your order never trades against your own resting order — it stops there instead.
6. Manage your orders
- 1Open orders lists everything still resting, with how much has filled.
- 2Cancel releases the unfilled part's reserve immediately.
- 3A partly filled order keeps what filled; only the rest is cancelled.
7. Withdraw bitcoin
- 1Open Funds, then Bitcoin, then Withdraw.
- 2Enter the destination address and the amount. The screen shows the minimum and maximum.
- 3Review: amount, network fee, total debited and destination.
- 4Your wallet shows the exact withdrawal text — amount, fee, destination, network and a one-time code. Check every line, then sign.
- 5Follow its status: Queued, then Awaiting the operator's signature, then Broadcast, then Confirmed — with a link to a public block explorer.
Why your wallet signs every withdrawal
Your signature over the exact destination and amount is the venue's proof that you asked for this payment. The offline signer checks it before signing anything — so even a fully compromised venue server could not invent a withdrawal in your name.
Security review
Some withdrawals are held for a routine check by a person before they are paid — for example, a large one, or a first one to a new address. Your balance is debited and nothing can leave until it is approved. You can cancel it while it waits, and it is refunded in full.
Pauses
If withdrawals of an asset are paused for a security review, the screen says so and your balance is untouched. Resuming takes two people, by design.
8. Check us
- 1Every deposit and withdrawal links to a public block explorer that is not ours.
- 2The Audit page compares what the venue says it owes with what the chain says it holds — the subtraction happens in your browser.
- 3/api/v1/venue is the venue's machine-readable statement of what it is and what it holds.
9. If something is wrong
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit stuck on Confirming | The chain has not confirmed it deeply enough yet | Wait; the count is on the screen |
| Deposit Below minimum | Recorded, not credited | Contact support with the transaction id |
| Withdrawal in Security review | A person checks it before payment | Wait, or cancel for a full refund |
| Withdrawals paused | A venue-wide safety stop | Nothing; your balance is untouched |
| Signed out unexpectedly | Your session expired | Sign in again with the same wallet |
10. Sign out
Signing out deletes the session key from this browser. We cannot delete it for you, because we never had it.
What you should take away
- The address bar and your wallet's signing prompt are the two places to look before every action.
- Deposits are credited only after confirmations and independent agreement.
- Every withdrawal is something your own wallet signed, word for word.
- Reviews and pauses protect balances; they never touch them.
