Straight answers about your money on this venue — including the things we cannot do for you, said plainly.
OpeniBank runs two production venues. openibank.com is built for people: guided trading, the Learning Lab, this help centre. openibank.org is built for AI agents: an API, mandates and no account at all. They hold separate balances — money deposited on one does not exist on the other. You are on openibank.com.
No. You sign in with a wallet: the venue sends a one-time text, your wallet shows it word for word, and you sign it. There is no password to create and no email to give. The text says it authorises no transfer, no trade and no spending, and it is valid once, for five minutes.
Browser wallets such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rabby, Trust, OKX, Binance Wallet, Bitget Wallet, Rainbow, Phantom and Safe. If yours is not listed, a browser-extension wallet is the reliable choice.
Each venue shows its state on its front page and in /api/v1/venue. A venue opens for deposits and trading only when its own custody is live. Until then you can read the markets, the docs and the Learning Lab, and nothing can be deposited.
Open Funds → Bitcoin → Deposit, copy your address (or scan the QR code), and send bitcoin to it from your own wallet on the bitcoin network. The address is yours alone and does not change.
Once the transaction has the number of confirmations shown on the deposit screen and independent chain indexers agree it exists. The deposit shows as Confirming with a count until then. Two sources must agree so that one bad data source cannot credit coins that never arrived.
A deposit below the minimum shown on the deposit screen is recorded but not credited. Contact support with the transaction id.
Only bitcoin on the bitcoin network can arrive at a bitcoin deposit address. Contact support with the transaction id and the network you used; we will tell you honestly whether anything can be done. Often nothing can.
The transaction was seen and then disappeared — replaced or dropped by the network before it confirmed. Nothing was credited. Check the transaction in your own wallet.
Open Funds → Bitcoin → Withdraw, enter the address and amount, review the network fee and total, and sign the withdrawal text in your wallet. The text names the exact amount, fee, destination and network. Then follow its status to Confirmed, with a link to a public block explorer.
Your signature over the exact destination and amount is the proof that you asked for this payment. The offline signer checks that proof before it signs anything, so even a fully compromised venue server could not invent a withdrawal in your name. A stolen session cannot produce it either.
Some withdrawals — a large one, or a first one to a new address — are checked by a person before they are paid. Your balance has been debited and nothing can leave until the withdrawal is approved. You can cancel it while it waits and it is refunded in full.
Yes, while it is queued or in review, from the withdrawal history. Once it has been added to a batch for signing it can no longer be cancelled.
A pause is a safety stop the venue triggers when outflow looks unusual. It never touches balances, and nothing can leave while it is on. Resuming takes two different people, so it is never lifted by one person acting alone.
Withdrawals are paid in batches that the operator signs offline. The transaction id appears in your history as soon as the batch is broadcast; from then on, confirmation time is the bitcoin network's.
Limit (your price or better; the rest waits on the book), limit with Post only (only ever rests, and is refused if it would trade at once), and Market (now, against the best prices, inside a 5% band). The trading guide has worked examples.
The usual reasons: the price is not a multiple of the market's tick size, the amount is below the minimum or not a multiple of the lot size, a post-only order would have traded immediately, or the balance is not enough. The venue refuses rather than silently rounding, because a rounded order is one you did not place.
A market order never fills more than 5% away from the best price at the moment it arrived, and it stops at your own resting order rather than trading with it. Whatever cannot fill inside those limits is cancelled and its reserve returned.
Balance reserved by your open orders. Cancel an order and its reserve returns to Available in the same instant.
Your seed phrase or private key, a signature that transfers or approves tokens, remote access to your computer, or a payment to “unlock” or “verify” funds. Nobody from OpeniBank will message you first on social media or a chat app. Anyone who does is not us.
Type openibank.com yourself or use a bookmark. Never follow a link in a message to sign in. Phishing copies of exchanges are generated by machines now and look exact; the address bar is the one thing they cannot copy.
Contact support at once. We can place a hold on withdrawals from your account while you secure your wallet; lifting the hold takes two staff members. Then move anything in the compromised wallet itself to a new one.
The keys that can spend deposited bitcoin are offline, on hardware; the servers hold none. Every payout must carry the customer's own signature, which the offline signer checks. Outflow is rate-limited, unusual outflow pauses withdrawals automatically, and changes to limits or holds need two people. You can check the venue's solvency yourself on the Audit page.
Yes. Create an API key and sign each request (the API page shows how). openibank.org is built for exactly this, with mandates that bound what each agent may do.
No. No API key and no mandate can move money off the venue. A withdrawal always needs the account's own wallet signature over the exact amount and destination.
Delete it at once from your API keys; it stops working immediately. Its secret was shown only once, when you created it, and the venue never shows it again.
Your wallet address, your balances, your orders and trades, and your deposits and withdrawals — the minimum an exchange needs to run. No password, no identity documents, and no email unless you write to support.
Email support@openibank.com. Include your wallet address and any transaction id. Never send a seed phrase, a private key or a screenshot of either — we will never ask for them.
Email security@openibank.com. Please report privately first and give us reasonable time to fix before disclosing.
Not today. The wallet you sign in with is the account, and moving a balance to a new wallet on request would let anyone who convinced us take it. Recovery for verified accounts is planned and will be announced here when it exists. Back up your wallet's recovery phrase, offline.
